There’s no doubt that nut allergies are on the rise and that more and more places are becoming “nut free” zones. While no-one could blame the poor peanut for having an inferiority complex, its relative tree nuts (almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, chestnuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pistachio nuts and walnuts), don’t fare much better.
Nut allergies are a serious matter and can be life threatening. Some Mums even drive to hospitals, parking within the vicinity, before giving their child peanut butter for the first time, such is the fear and worry.
At Wholesome Hub, our Nut Free value means that a particular product doesn’t have any peanut or tree nut ingredients in it. This doesn’t mean it has been produced in a facility or production line that doesn’t handle nuts therefore there may be cross contamination and traces of nut present – especially with peanuts which have airborne particles. If you do have any questions or would like more information about a particular product, please just drop us a line.
